Summary

A symposium and panel discussion about the relationship between international security and human rights, and women's leadership in the Muslim world as a positive force for democratic change and transition. Images of Muslim women in the media, Islamophobia in the post-9/11 era, and whether or not there is a contradiction between Islam and democracy, are discussed.

The format is conversational, with the moderator asking a question of the entire panel, each panelist giving answers and responding to one another.

This is second of two videos of WLP's event, Women and Leadership in Muslim Societies: Voices for Change

A Q&A concludes the session.
