Alex Murray supports the production of culture-specific editions of WLP curricula and training tools, assists in the coordination of WLP’s e-learning initiatives, and coordinates the writing of grant reports and proposals. She earned her M.A. in Arabic and International Relations from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Previously, she worked for one of AmeriCorps social programs in Bridgeport, CT. Prior to joining WLP, she received her M.A. in Arab Studies at Georgetown University focusing on women and gender in the Middle East.
Climate change is not gender neutral and neither are its solutions. Across the Global Majority, women are on the frontlines of environmental crises, yet are too often excluded from the decisions shaping their futures. Climate justice goes beyond policy. It is about leadership — the ability to organize, advocate, and transform communities from within.
When justice feels distant, it is often women who bring it closer. In communities where courts are far away, stigma silences survivors, and the law feels inaccessible, access to justice depends not only on institutions, but on trusted local actors who can translate legal rights into lived protection. Justice, in these contexts, is not only delivered in courtrooms, but it is built in communities.
