Summary

In February of 2024, WLP partner Shymkent Women's Resource Center (SWRC) marked the grand opening of the Astana Women's Information Center (AWIC). The center's mission revolves around engaging women of all generation and fostering empowerment through an array of activities including seminars, training session, and leadership workshops tailored for women and girls. 

AWIC activities include:

  • Synthesize progressive experience of work on psychological assistance, education.
  • Establish cooperation with public, governmental, and administrative authorities and agencies to achieve the chartered goals.
  • Perform certain works for state authorities under contracts with them as provided by the applicable laws.
  • Hold round tables to discuss the most burning problems in the life of society.
  • Make proposals and solve troublesome issues with official authorities, induce amendments to the effective laws.
  • Participate in the efforts to reform and improve various types of entrepreneurial activities.
  • Organize professional advancement courses, conduct counseling workshops and trainings with the involvement of highly qualified specialists.
  • Engage in publishing activities.
  • Perform other types of activities not prohibited by the effective law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
