Eighteen representatives from 16 women’s rights organizations in the southern and eastern regions of Nigeria attended CEADER’s National Training of Trainers workshop in Lagos from May 3 through 6, 2016.
AFCF, WLP’s partner in Mauritania, conducted leadership trainings for female elected officials during March and April of 2016. Twenty-five women policymakers participated in total—ten parliamentarians from the capital of Nouakchott and 15 others representing various municipalities in the country.
ADFM, WLP’s partner in Morocco, hosted a series of workshops throughout the spring of 2016 designed to provide local activists with relevant skills and knowledge for women’s rights and activism.
During a public event in March, WLP’s partner organization in Brazil, CEPIA, disclosed the findings of its study on the Maria da Penha domestic violence law to figures from the public, academia, and the NGO world. A Portuguese version of WLP’s training manual on gender-based violence was also unveiled at the event.
