From November 25 to December 10, 2022, Women's Learning Partnership (WLP) is participating in the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign to build awareness of and end violence against women and girls. Across the world, communities are facing increasing instability and upheaval due to the climate crisis, violent conflict, economic downturns, pandemics, authoritarianism and suppression of human rights defenders. In times of crisis women and girls face increased threats of violence, exploitation, and discrimination.
This year WLP’s Partnership-wide digital campaign for the 16 Days of Activism will highlight the connections between gender-based violence and other global issues, and provide strategies for collective action to end GBV. For over two decades WLP has been working with women to lead change locally and globally. Our 16 Days of Activism campaign features stories of how WLP partners across the Global South have empowered women to end gender-based violence in their communities while simultaneously addressing poverty, conflict, climate change and more.
