Attiya Inayatullah is a Member of Parliament in Pakistan, a UNESCO Executive Board member, and Advisor to the Family Planning Association of Pakistan. Her former positions include Advisor to the President of Pakistan for Population Welfare and Women’s Affairs, Minister of State, member of Pakistan’s National Security Council, Minister for Women’s Development, Social Welfare and Special Education, and Chairperson of UNESCO. She was formerly the Chairperson of the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

She has received numerous awards from Pakistani and international organizations including Rotary International, the United Nations, and the Human Rights Society of Pakistan. She previously served as Dean of the Institute of Women’s Studies in Lahore, Pakistan. A prominent sociologist, Dr. Inayatullah obtained an MA in Sociology from Boston University and a PhD in Social Demography from Punjab University.
