September 14, 2015 - The World We Seek: Reigniting the Dialogue on Human Security

Women’s Learning Partnership (WLP) and The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) present The World We Seek: Reigniting the Dialogue on Human Security. September 14, 2015, 9:30am-5:00pm.

Women's Learning Partnership extends a warm thank you to all who joined live or via webcast for WLP's 20th anniversary commemoration of the Fourth United Nations Conference on Women!

Through conversation, poetry, film, and music, the day-long event examined and reimagined the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the foundation for global security and sustainable development.

International experts and young activists reignited and reoriented the dialogue on the place of human rights in policy-making; and underscored the integral role of women’s advancement in the development of human rights. The program featured proven models for alleviating poverty, improving health and sanitation, and countering violent extremism, as well as the Washington D.C. premiere of the WLP documentary film, Human Rights: The Unfinished Journey.
