Leadership

Our signature manual Leading to Choices: A Leadership Training Handbook for Women has been used in interactive leadership training workshops with thousands of participants in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Building on the success of this manual, we developed Leading to Choices: A Multimedia Curriculum for Leadership Learning, which consists of three videos on effective communication, interactive facilitation, and advocacy for change, and has been used in training of trainers for hundreds of NGO leaders and activists.

More recently, Yes I Can: Youth manual Leadership for Teens is the first publication of the Young Women’s Learning Partnership (YWLP) initiative. The manual focuses on the transformative leadership capacities of girls and boys, and helps workshop participants develop collective solutions.

ICT

Our innovative technology trainer's manual, Making IT Our Own: Information & Communication Technology Training of Trainers Manual, provides technology skills for gender justice and human rights advocacy. The manual takes an assemble-your-own approach to ICT trainings so that trainers can customize and deliver effective technology trainings of their own suited to their communities.

Political Participation

Leading to Action: A Political Participation Handbook for Women is a learning tool for those challenging themselves to play a more significant role in their communities. The handbook contains ten sessions examining the barriers to political participation and strategies for ethical political leadership. Also included in the appendices are resources for political activity at local, national, and international levels.

Evaluation

Looking at the systematic evaluation and monitoring of the effects of WLP's leadership trainings in women's lives and their communities, we developed a guide for organizations, Measuring Change: Monitoring and Evaluating Leadership Programs.

Violence Against Women and Girls

Finally, we are currently testing and adapting a training manual on eliminating violence against women and girls, which is also key to creating both public and private spaces in which women can safely and fully speak out and engage as decision makers. The manual addresses both locally-based violence, as well as the larger scale context of national and global conflict.
