The Campaign for Arab Women’s Right to Nationality

International Campaign Launch Event Materials

On September 6, 2006 Women’s Learning Partnership convened a panel discussion to launch an international campaign in support of the six-country regional campaign for Arab women’s right to nationality in Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, and Algeria. The panel was held at John’s Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in cooperation with the SAIS Dialogue Project.

Panelists included Lina Abou-Habib (Lebanon), Mahnaz Afkhami (Iran/USA), Asma Khader (Jordan), and Amina Lemrini (Morocco). The panel was moderated by Azar Nafisi (Author of Reading Lolita in Tehran and Director of SAIS Dialogue Project).
