Claiming Equal Citizenship

The Campaign for Arab Women’s Right to Nationality

History is the Witness of Injustice

History is the witness of injustice done to man all over the world and for different reasons. It is unacceptable that today in our modern century some people have to suffer and live in misfortune because of their identity, an identity they didn’t pick. If people were liberated from discrimination in the past, with the determination and hard work something can and will be done today!!!

We Stand Together as Women and Sisters

No women should be treated less than her male counterparts. We stand together as women, as sisters so that all women can experience the Freedoms and equalities that we free women have.

The Greatest Solidarity of People Everywhere is that we are All Human

The greatest solidarity of people everywhere is that we are all human. It is when women too can live with human dignity that humanity will truly be free and just. Women’s rights are human rights.

Solidarity for the betterment of women’s situation

I do feel for the state of women in these societies whose state is so pathetic and alarming. By signing this petition I am expressing my solidarity to them and all those who are working for the betterment of their situation.

Every Citizen has the Right to be Equal to the Other

Every citizen has the right to be equal to the other. Irrespective of who we are, where we come from and the class we belong to.

Nigeria is a practising partriachal system where men dominate women. We in our organisation are advocating earnestly through Action AID International Partnership to fight against disparity and injustice.

We join to say that women and children who are most vulnerable should be given opportunities of equality at all phases in life.

An American Woman Married to a Moroccan Man

As an American woman married to a Moroccan man (which I believe makes me a citizen of Morocco), I support equality laws in Morocco and other countries. Because I am a citizen of Morocco by marriage and my children will be citizens of Morocco and the United States, I think it is important for all of them to have equal rights within Morocco, I am personally concerned with equal rights for all within not only Morocco, but all of the other nations that have different laws for men and women.

Changing Legislation is a Necessary Step, but Not Sufficient

The struggle for Gender Equality is part and parcel of the struggle for sustainable development. Changing legislations is a necessary step, but not sufficient. It should be supported by mobilizing social forces, awareness and a positive value system.
