CRTD-A Holds Nationality Workshop, Prepares Action Plan
On October 9th and 10th, Lebanon campaign partner, Collective for Research and Training on Development-Action (CRTD-A), conducted a workshop for a small group of women and children who are adversely affected by the current nationality laws in Lebanon.
The workshop empowered participants with the necessary leadership skills to find solutions to the nationality issue by advocating for an amendment to the nationality code and mobilizing others to support their right to nationality.
Participants developed an action plan to be implemented in two phases. In November and December, the women will attend weekly organizational and strategy meetings, gather stories of those affected by the nationality code, inform the group about campaign news and activities, and mobilize their communities. During phase two, they will contact media outlets, prepare an advertisement to be distributed to Lebanese media channels, and mobilize lawyers and human rights activists interested in their cause.
Stay tuned to see how this action plan affects the progress of an amendment to the Lebanese Nationality legislation.
