CRTD-A Collects Over 450 Signatures in Two Days

The President of the Women’s Rights Club, Rania Jaber, opened the event with the announcement that the campaign had collected over 450 signatures. The event included two days of campaign-related activities in which attendees had an opportunity to read over educational materials about nationality rights as well as listen to a panel discussing the legal opportunities for women and their families.

One Step Closer to Creating Equality in Egypt

Prior to 2004, women who married foreign men were unable to confer citizenship on their children. In July 2004 the nationality law was reformed allowing Egyptian women married to non-nationals the right to pass on their nationality to their children, given that they meet certain requirements.
