إن الموضوع الرئيسي للجنة وضع المرأة للدورة السابعة والخمسين هو العنف ضد المرأة. نحن، في "شراكة تعلم المرأة"، نؤمن بأهمية هذا الموضوع في هذا الوقت خاصة في ظل الثورات التي جرت مؤخراً والتحولات الجارية في مناطق من العالم لا تزال النساء فيها غير حاصلات على حقوقهن.*

This April, WLP travelled to Istanbul for a series of important convenings, organized in conjunction with the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) Forum.

The following is WLP President Mahnaz Afkhami's written testimony for the hearing on Women and the Arab Spring to the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on International Operation and Organizations, Human Rights, Democracy, and Global Women’s Issues and Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South Central Asia Affairs.
